Ingredients
white fish (pollock, cod, saithe)
1 shallot
1 chile
lime juice of 1-2 limes
corriander (cilantro) one handful
Preparing for an adventure
So to prepare this for an adventure, a little mis-en place is necessary before you head out.
First get a container that will be able to hold all the fish you want to prepare for this great meal. It could be for a starter or a main course depending on how much fish you expect to catch, or how you want to serve it.
Cut the chile into very small peices, (you can leave the seeds inside if you want it more spicy, as european chile for sale tends to be quite mild).
Slice the shallots into thin slices.
Place into container and sqeeze in all the lime juice.
The corriander needs to be fresh when you serve the dish, so try to keep it as cool as possible. If you are going on a longer expedition, then add the corriander cut up with scissors already now. Place in fridge and take it out when you leave for your adventure. The lime will preserve the ingredients for a long time.
Preparation
When you have caught and filleted your fish, cut it up into small thin strips and add it to the ingredients. Cut (or tear) the corriander into the container and mix it all up. Let it sit for 5 to no more than 15 minitues before serving. The lime juice will cure the lime and will turn it slightly white.
It is a super easy meal to prepare while on the go, and the taste is amazing.
Enjoy and happy adventures!
